Interested in earning PSY 4916 credit? We are looking for research assistants each semester (fall, spring, and summer). In our lab, we investigate infant development. Responsibilities include testing infants, preparing stimuli for experiments, data recording and entry, and other lab duties. If you are interested, please call (561) 297-2728 or contact us at InfantLab@fau.edu. Assistantships are for course credit only. We are not accepting volunteers at this time.
Do I have to be a psychology major or minor?
No, you do NOT have to be a psychology major or minor. While many of our students are psychology majors, we have students, for example, from sociology, biology, education, or chemistry.
Is STA 2023 or PSY 3213 required?
There are no psychology prerequisites currently, but having these courses or their equivalent is preferable.
If I have interviewed for a previous semester, do I have to interview again?
Yes. Your availability may change each semester, which is one of the main determinants of who is chosen to work in our lab.
What is the time commitment?
Summer: For 3 hours of course credit, you will work three 3-hour shifts (total: 9 hours a week). You must work the entire 12-week summer session. Typically, there is no lab work outside of lab hours.
